Transitioning to SAHM

In 'message board' speak, SAHM stands for 'Stay at Home Mom'. I knew I would love being a SAHM, but I didn't realize the time and effort that would be involved in transitioning from a WOHM (Work Outside the Home Mom) to a SAHM. There are the the outplacement evaluations, the 401K rollovers, the new budget... I can't wait for it to all be over so I can get to steady state again!

Here's a little card using last month's Addicted Scrapper's kit. The kit is going on hiatus for the summer and returning in the fall. So if you love unique, fun, handmade embellishments, check back in September. Susannah (the owner) does such a great job handmaking embellishments like fabric polka-dot mushrooms and the felt cherry branch on the 'Fresh' layout.

Oh, the Drama!

The Girl Scout camp out was a contrast between great highs (campfires, singing, visiting the Desert Museum) and great lows (Girl #1 can't hang out with Girl #2 because her clique at school doesn't allow her to, Girls #3 - 6 are taking sides and reporting on the situation to the adults.)

If this is what it's like in 4th grade, God help us when we get to middle school! Charlotte, unfortunately is Girl #2. It isn't helping that she doesn't want to take no for an answer, but continues to go back for more rejection. Hopefully she learned something over the weekend, so that she can avoid these situations in the future.

In other news, our little soccer player (seen in the "Play Ball" layout a few posts back), scored the only goal of the game yesterday, allowing her team to win their first game this season!

Addcited Scrappers' January Kit

I was lucky enough to have Susannah at Addicted Scrappers ask me to do some pages for their January kit.

Susannah has really outdone herself with this kit! Notice the little bird (one of two in the kit) -- it is hand-made out of felt and is just adorable! Plus the Fancy Pants papers are absolutely luscious.

Now that the kids are back in school, I am starting to actually feel like I'm not working. It's been wonderful! I have so much more time for running, hiking, scrapbooking, seeing friends, after-school activities, and (last but not least!), my neglected blog.

Twenty Years of (Mostly) Bliss

Today is Karl and my twentieth wedding anniversary. Makes me feel a little old, but I am proud to have made it that far and still be going strong.
